We all know by now how toxic social media can be and how it can affect one's mental health. Yet we cannot stay away from it. We try to delete some of the applications we have, delete them, limit your screen time, turn off your notifications, and more.

But, what do social media managers think of us?

How do we maintain our innocence?

What can we do to help?

Let's face it. Social media management can be exhausting. It feels like you have to be available everywhere and 24/7 everywhere - creating content, responding and interacting with others, gaining new followers, and planning for next week's posts. The good news is that there are ways to handle workloads and stress to improve our mental health.

 Time management

As a social media manager, we have to deal with a busy schedule. Basically, in general, we need to stay online after publishing this post. After posting as much as possible, we need to keep an eye on the post, respond to comments, and talk to people who might find the post interesting.

Therefore, planning and arranging your time will make a significant difference in your ability to compete with the set of activities you need to complete. Improving your time management will help you improve your performance and achieve your goals through less effort and more effective strategies. (Kashyap, 2020)

That sounds great, doesn't it?

Take a break

Since the onset of epidemics, we have been working on multiple devices simultaneously. You may have stopped checking your Instagram feed, but have you stopped your desktop app as well? No cheating!

When I was working at EPO in 2019, I used to complain about my software which is in our computers. It was a little dog that kept coming to our screen and reminding us to move on from time to time. I hated it when we first installed it. I found this annoying. But once I learned that when I like to take breaks or when I start to lose focus, I was able to adjust it accordingly. Suddenly, I got the benefit of this app. Moving on after 45-60 minutes kept me awake and human.

I've found an app that serves a similar purpose that I absolutely love: Flu. It's very simple and looks cool on your screen. I set it up to remind me of the break every 45 minutes. When I start work, every 45 minutes, I have to stand, walk, fill a bottle of water - everything that breaks the screen.

Of course, according to my workload or schedule, I sit for the shortest time. Because I lose my focus after 45 minutes, I need to refresh a bit, even for just 1-2 minutes.

It is important to take breaks to recover from stress, which, in turn, can improve your overall performance. Rehabilitation from work stress can restore energy and mental reserves and reduce the development of fatigue, sleep disorders, and even some diseases. Screen time and limits

Whenever a friend asks me about my screen time, I lie because I know my screen time is much longer than theirs. This is my job, because I'm looking forward to working online.

The day I found out, it saved my life. I get upset when I don't respond to my notifications. I'm one of those people who hates this red notice on apps. During the day, I stay away from notifications using Flu and Dow Destroyer dusting. In the middle of the night, I turn on my bed. Sleep is more comfortable when my DMs are not tempted to respond to or check information.

Use social media wisely

The more he relies on social media for tracking, the more he gets tired of social media. About 50% of influencers feel that their work affects their mental health. (Dudson, 2019)

So what can we learn from this?

Promoting the conscious use of social media can help you escape quickly and reach your full potential.

Unsupported accounts that you don't like.

Instead, follow the inspirational accounts that help you.

Mute your stimulus words. (I recently learned about this. If you know that certain words or post types can motivate you, you can mute these posts and hide them from appearing on your pod. )

 Self-care is important

Every week, usually on Tuesdays and Fridays, I have some time. I mean, I wake up a little earlier than usual, enjoying a more extended shower than a hair with a face mask. This extra hour of time keeps me focused, and I'm the only one who can boost my energy throughout the week. Self-care can be anything and everything. It could be meditation or something you enjoy.

It is important to make sure that we take good care of our minds, bodies and souls. Because if we don't feel better, and don't take good care of ourselves, we won't be able to work, and well, we'll face something that won't be good. One can learn how to eat right, reduce stress, exercise regularly and take time out when needed. These self-care measures can help us stay healthy, happy and flexible.

There's also something I've started recently, I've been working hard over the last month and not paying much attention to myself. That is why I have decided to go on a journey of self-development with a self-development plan. We live in a fast-paced and challenging world, especially if you're working on social media, take some time to take care of yourself and take care of your mind, body and body. Every Monday, I sit in front of my computer and put my week ahead, to relax myself and my schedule. I know what my production times are and what I don't. Now I know I need to take breaks between work / study if I can be productive for as long as possible. I am aware of the dangers of working or studying.

I try to limit my screen time and be more aware of the content I'm eating online.

No matter what you do to maintain good mental health, this one shoe does not fit in every case. I can admit that when it comes to social media, I sometimes commit suicide. I forget to turn off my notifications or keep my "Disturb Door" after work, I often check my notifications at night. But I know more than ever, and I know how to work on my mental health as a social media manager.
